Buoy installed off the coast of Jakarta, Indonesia.

A nautical buoy sits in an open body of water and people are invited to send it a virtual message in a bottle via SMS. The SMS messages are translated by the buoy and flashed out to sea in morse code visible for miles away. A meditation on our intrinsic relationship with the sea, and making space for moments spent reflecting in the landscape.
Originally presented at Brighton Festival as part of Sea of Voices, re-mixed for UKID Festival 2016, Indonesia in collaboration with Miebi Sikoki, funded by the British Council.
