“Overwhelming and extraordinary”
A large scale public sound installation.
105+dB, the sound level at which individual voices are lost in a crowd, is a sonic artwork about identity, place and participation, using the noise of crowds to question what it means to belong as an individual and as a mass by capturing the 3D sound of crowds and recreating their unique sonic architecture in public spaces.
105+dB was originally commissioned by Arts Council England, Leeds Inspired, Hull City of Culture and was part of a partnership project between East Street Arts (Leeds), l’Entorse (Lille, France) and Vooruit (Ghent, Belgium) entitled Ex[s]ports, and funded by EU – Creative Europe.
