Aurora is an epic immersive experience about our changed global relationship to water.
Combining custom sensory and interactive technologies with water in its different states Aurora will invite audiences to explore a living and responsive environment. Water and human presence will power, shift and evolve the installation each day it is live. Using water as its core material, Aurora attempts to challenge and mend our relationship with water as a human utility, asking audiences to reimagine it as the most precious element on earth; sublime, living and vital to all life as we know it.
An elemental installation made for the iconic Toxteth Reservoir in Liverpool, built in 1845 to hold and supply 2 million gallons of water to the people of Liverpool.
A part of Liverpool 2018, a year long programme of cultural projects to mark the tenth anniversary of Liverpool being European Capital of Culture. A partnership led by FACT with British Council, Culture Liverpool, Invisible Flock and Dingle 2000.
Aurora will run from 19 September through to 7 October 2018.
